Meet Jess: Founder of Capital Tots Nannies
Hi, I’m Jessica Bunting, a career nanny with more than a decade of experience caring for children of all ages, from newborns to teenagers, across China, the UK, and Australia. I continue to work as a nanny, including babysitting, day and night nannying, event and wedding support so I stay closely connected to families and children and understand firsthand what makes childcare truly effective. I love getting to know each child and family I work with, creating safe, engaging, and fun experiences that spark curiosity and joy while giving parents peace of mind.

Holding a Certificate III in Community Services and a Level 5 CELTA from Cambridge, I’m passionate about professional development and committed to high standards in childcare. While working in China, I was Head of Curriculum Development for the English stream of an IB Pre-School, designing and implementing learning experiences that supported children’s growth, curiosity, and confidence.

I also sit on the Australian Nanny Association Subcommittee, helping to strengthen the nanny profession and celebrate the incredible people who care for children every day. Through my experience, I’ve learned that every family is unique, with no one-size-fits-all approach to raising children. This guides how I match families with nannies who are not only professional and experienced but also warm, trustworthy, and genuinely caring, with aligned values.

My Why
With years of private nannying experience, I’ve had the privilege of supporting families across Canberra through babysitting, night nannying, and wedding or event support. While working as a sole trader, I often had to turn families away because I couldn’t meet the demand on my own. I launched Capital Tots Nannies to fill this gap, offering families convenient access to reliable, thoroughly vetted nannies while ensuring nannies are fairly compensated for their skills and expertise.

Our purpose is to connect Canberra families with safe, experienced, and trustworthy nannies, while ensuring nannies are valued and fairly compensated. We aim to build a trusted network where children receive the highest quality care, parents feel completely at ease, and nannies are respected as skilled professionals.
